最迟销售日期
sell-by date
(1) sell-by date表示“最迟销售日期，保质期”，即印商品在包装袋上的日期，表示过了这一日期商品不能再销售。
英语解释为the date stamped on a food product, after which it should not be sold。
(2) be past its sell-by date “过了保质期”
(3) 一段时间 + past its sell-by date，表示“过期这段时间”，如three days past its sell-by date，“过期三天”

expiration date
(1) expire动词，“到期，过期，失效”

英语解释为the date after which something is not safe to eat。
除了用于食物，也可以用于合同、协议、护照等。

保存期
shelf life
(1) shelf “（墙上或橱柜里的）隔板，架子”，超市里的货架也是这个单词
(2) shelf life指的是食物等可以在商店、超市等地方的货架上保存时长，所以表示“货架期，保存期，保质期”，一般用单数
英语解释为the length of time that a product, especially food, can be kept in a shop before it becomes too old to sell。
(3) have a shelf life of + 一段时间，表示 “保存期是这段时间，保质期是这段时间”
例
These eggs have a shelf life of 30 days.
这些鸡蛋的保质期为30天。
These things have a shelf life of over three years.
这些东西有三年以上的保质期。
